Fans injured at Swampscott/Marblehead Powder Puff game

SWAMPSCOTT — Part of the stands collapsed during the Swampscott vs Marblehead Powder Puff football game today resulting in injuries, according to police.
Swampscott Detective Tim Cassidy said in a text message that three teenage fans on the Marblehead side of the game were hurt when a wooden board broke beneath them. According to Cassidy, one of the teens was transported to Salem Hospital with a possible broken leg. The other two, Cassiday wrote, were treated at the scene and declined to go to the hospital.
Cassidy also said that the DPW had done some work on those bleachers during the fall season.
